Martha takes a person-centered approach and thinks it is important to view people holistically to best understand their concerns. She welcomes feedback and encourages clients to let her know if something she doing is or isn’t working for them. She became interested in mental health after seeing how challenges with mental health can impact a person’s overall well-being. Martha has experience with disability waivers in both case management and supportive housing settings and she is familiar with navigating the county benefits application processes. She is interested in getting additional training in DBT, as well as implementing more somatic practices into her work. She is pursuing a master’s degree in counseling psychology at the University of St. Thomas with focus in co-occurring substance use disorders. She is excited to empower others to grow, build new skills, and regain a sense of urgency in their lives.
