Amber Michalski

Amber is a behavioral health leader with 25 years of experience in human services. For the past 14 years, she has specialized in co-occurring substance use and mental health treatment, bringing a deep commitment to integrated, person-centered care. Amber has been with Progress Valley for over seven years, where she currently serves as Chief Operating Officer.

In her role, Amber oversees clinical operations across multiple service lines, supports strategic program development, and ensures regulatory excellence in both mental health and substance use disorder treatment. She is a licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), as well as a board-approved LPCC supervisor.

Amber is passionate about building strong teams, expanding access to high‑quality behavioral health services, and advancing innovative, whole-person approaches to care.

Founded in 1972, Progress Valley is a Minneapolis-St. Paul area-based nonprofit provider of services for people with emotional and mental health challenges and/or substance use issues related to drugs or alcohol. Community members can find therapy and mental health counseling at our Bloomington Mental Health Clinic. Clients from all over Minnesota and the nation can find help with substance use challenges with us as well.
