Join a Supportive Community

Progress Valley is known for providing safe, structured recovery environments — so you can face addiction challenges head-on. Everyone receives comprehensive, intensive substance use and mental health treatment.

You can come to Progress Valley after a stay at a detox center or when you’re ready to start inpatient rehab. We offer separate programs for individuals who identify as female (PV2 in Bloomington, Minnesota) and who identify as male (PV3 in Richfield, Minnesota). Services at both facilities include:

  • Individualized treatment planning
  • One-to-one counseling
  • Psychoeducation and other mental health supports
  • Group and individual counseling
  • Peer recovery support services
  • Medical services and medication management
  • Family services
  • Health, wellness and life skills workshops
  • Vocational services
  • Treatment coordination and community referrals

Each residential facility is a safe and nurturing community environment with staff available 24/7. The professional team includes licensed drug and alcohol counselors, mental health therapists, and nurses. Residents participate in clinical programming, educational presentations, therapeutic recreation, and leisure activities. A highly structured and supportive program helps residents develop routine and healthy habits in the early stages of recovery.

A Full Continuum of Addiction and Mental Health Care

When working to quit drinking or using, everyone faces different issues. Progress Valley’s men’s and women’s programs take into account gender-specific needs and are LGBTQ-inclusive. Every service is client-centered and incorporates the experience and knowledge of others in recovery. Our inpatient rehab includes relapse prevention education and referrals to other community services. Learn more about our full continuum of care.

Taking the Next Step

When you are ready to leave residential care, you begin taking the lead in your journey to long-term recovery. Counselors will help you with discharge planning and the transition to continuing care. And you may choose to engage other professionals, family members or friends in finding a path that’s right for you.

After residential care, some clients may begin outpatient care or choose to live in sober housing. Progress Valley also offers intensive outpatient treatment with lodging for men. Many Progress Valley clients stay in touch with our staff and their peers. Our alumni who stay connected think it’s a great way to receive ongoing support for new and ongoing challenges of a sober lifestyle.
