Exciting news – June bought about the official launch of the Progress Valley independent Mental Health Clinic. While the mental health clinic has been operating prior to June, this summer and fall will be a time of growth, exciting change and more possibilities for the clinic!
Our mental health clinic operates Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, but we can offer evening appointments based upon therapist availability so always inquire. We currently have 4 therapists and hope to expand over the summer with both Bloomington and Roseville based therapists. We have a mixture of licensed therapists and therapists in supervision for licensure.
What makes us different from other Mental Health Clinics?
We stand out for several reasons. Firstly, our team brings a strong background in addiction programming, with many of our therapists holding dual licensure and extensive group experience. This diverse expertise enables us to offer a well-rounded therapeutic approach and share valuable insights with our clients. In addition to individual therapy, we provide family and couples therapy at our clinic. We are dedicated to delivering client-centered and culturally sensitive care. We also recognize the gaps in behavioral health services and are committed to addressing them by offering support where it’s needed most.
What will the initial process look like?
When you reach out to start services, we’ll ask for your insurance details and some basic demographic information, including your contact information. This helps us verify coverage for mental health services and, if necessary, create a self-pay plan or alternative arrangements. Your contact information also allows us to send you the initial intake paperwork before your appointment, so we can focus more on discussing your goals with the therapist during your first session rather than on administrative tasks. During this call, we will also schedule your initial appointment, which will include a review of the intake paperwork and a diagnostic assessment.
What is a diagnostic assessment?
A diagnostic assessment allows our therapist to walk through with you what brings you into therapy, whether it is certain symptoms, experiences or the unknown. The diagnostic assessment allows us to bring all of that together, both current and historical, to help identify a diagnosis, if any, and determine appropriate next steps of mental health care.
How long is therapy?
Mental health therapy is tailored to each individual’s needs, so the duration can vary widely—from a few months to over a year. It depends on your personal goals and the timeline you set for achieving them. Therapy sessions can also be scheduled less frequently than weekly; some clients meet biweekly or even monthly. This flexible approach supports a gradual transition out of therapy, ensuring that it remains client-centered and effective throughout the process.
